It appears that the only sign of deficiency here is tooth decay.

Dentists provide fluoride treatments to prevent tooth decay.

Flouride tablets should not be taken when the drinking water flouride content is over 0.3 ppm.

nausea; vomiting, stomach pain; diarrhea, increased drooling, numbness, tingling, or loss of feeling in a body part, painful muscle stiffness, and seizures.

Potassium has many functions in the body, from maintaining healthy nerves and muscles, regulating the heartbeat, participating in the production of energy, metabolizing carbohydrates, to helping sodium regulate the body's fluids.

Occurs as a result of--
severe vomiting or diarrhea; kidney disease; or the use of diuretic drugs.
Signs--
muscle weakness, fatigue, insomnia, irregular heartbeat, digestive disorders, loss of appetite, confusion, and nervousness.

Supplements are usually recommended in the case of possible deficiency. Supplements should not be taken if you suffer from Addison's disease, digestive disorders, kidney disease, or are taking other forms of potassium. It is also not recommended during pregnancy or lactation.

Overdose--
Is possible, Potassium is very harmful if taken in excessive amounts.
Signs--
paralysis; numbness or tingling in appendages; an irregular heartbeat; low blood pressure; dizziness; confusion; weakness; and fatigue.
Leads to--
seizures, coma, heart attack, and possibly death.

Works with salt to help control the body's fluids. Too much salt in the diet could adversely effect Potassium. Use of low salt products can cause over dose when using supplements.
These drugs should not be taken with Potassium supplements--
angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitors, triamterene, spironolactone, beta-blockers, digoxin, certian diuretics, steroids, and anti-inflammatory drugs.
